‘Shout Your Abortion’ Website Allegedly Steals Photo Of Conservative Girl To Promote Pro-Abortion Article

 A conservative woman claims a pro-abortion website stole her photo to help promote their article titled, “I am 23 and I have had 3 abortions. YES I HAVE!,” leading many to believe that she was the author of the article.

The article, which has since been removed with no explanation, was featured on a website called "Shout Your Abortion," which describes itself as "a decentralized network of individuals talking about abortion on our own terms and creating space for others to do the same." The website also declares that "abortion is normal."

In a statement, 24-year-old Molly Schaap says she wants to “make it clear that I have never had an abortion.”

Schaap says the photo was taken off of her social media accounts and says she was horrified to wake up and see that a photo of her was used without her permission for the article. “Someone using the name ‘Heather’ stole my picture and essentially my identity,” she says.

The article details Heather’s reasons for having three abortions and outlines her reason for supporting abortion.

“She said she is proud of who she is and her actions, yet she used a picture of a random stranger instead of herself,” Schaap says. “I am appalled that my photo has been used in this manner.”

“All of my life, I have been pro-life and believe that life begins at conception. I have personally donated to pro-life causes and believe that every life is valuable. As a Christian, I believe that God is the author of life, and life is not ours to take away.”

Schaap says although she didn’t write the story, “the comments being made about the girl in the photo feel very personal” and that “Yes, the story, if it is true, is quite sad, but there is no excuse for making some of the crude and judgmental comments I have seen.”

“While I strongly believe that abortion is taking a valued life, I would like to ask people to think about the effect that their words have and to choose their words carefully,” Schaap says. “If Heather really exists, I want her to know that she has value and is loved despite the unfortunate life choices she has made. The Bible clearly teaches that God is a forgiving God. As a Christian, I strive to embody the love of Christ. Passing judgment helps no one. I hope that my story challenges you to think twice before making a comment on the Internet and instead think of other ways to promote choosing life.”

In an interview, Schaap told The Daily Wire that while she was horrified to discover her photo was stolen, “I hope that in some way this can be used for good.”

She adds: “I hope that this helps girls who are experiencing the aftermath of abortion or those who might be considering abortion to realize that there is a God who loves and cares for them and there are other options available to chose life. There is a supportive community of individuals that value them and their lives.”

Schaap hopes that compassion is used to respond to articles that promote abortion. “Compassion does not mean agreeing with actions but speaks much more powerfully than judgmental and unkind words.”
