Freshman Congresswoman Places Strange Flag Outside Her New Office – There’s Just One Big Problem…(6 Pics)
Just after being sworn into office on Thursday, Democratic Virginia Rep. Jennifer Wexton placed a transgender flag outside of her Capitol Hill office.
“Did you see the flag?!” she asked. “I think we’re the only office on the Hill with one.”
The flag is positioned prominently right beside the flag of the state of Virginia and the American flag.
All three flags are positioned just outside Wexton’s office.
Narissa Rahaman tweeted out the following message and image: “The trans flag is proudly & openly displayed next to the Virginia flag outside @RepWexton’s new office! She said to me, ‘Did you see the flag?! I think we’re the only office on the Hill with one.’ To all her volunteers: the flag is there because of you & for you! Change is here!”
Wexton is from a predominantly Republican district in Virginia. She emerged the winner of the Virginia contest against long odds and the belief that she would govern as a moderate Democrat.
But it looks like Wexton went hard left as soon as she was sworn into office today.

Wexton defeated two-term incumbent Republican Barbara Comstock in the November elections, and has become just the second Democrat ever to represent Virginia’s 10th district in the House of Representatives.
Wexton was one of three Democrats to oust an incumbent House Republican in Virginia. Democratic Reps. Elaine Luria and Abigail Spanberger defeated incumbent Republicans in Virginia’s 2nd and 7th district, respectively.
A former delegate in the Virginia General Assembly, Wexton received the endorsements of many prominent LGBTQ groups during her run, including the prominent political organization, “Human Rights Campaign.”
But did anyone notice, from the above photo, that the transgender flag was positioned alongside the America flag and the Virginian flag, on equal footing?
Wexton sees nothing wrong with that. What do you think?
