WATCH: Trump Posts BRUTAL Video Smacking Ilhan Omar For 9/11 Comments
President Donald Trump ripped Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) in a brutal video clip he posted to Twitter concerning the Democrat's widely-ridiculed comments downplaying the 9/11 terror attacks that killed thousands of Americans.
The video begins with a clip of Rep. Omar referring to the 9/11 atrocity as being an instance where "some people did something" during a speech she gave in March for the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).
The video then cuts to news footage of the second plane crashing into the Twin Towers, before cutting back to Omar's "some people did something" remark. This sequence is repeated two more times, as the horrifying realities of that fateful day are showcased.
“September 11, 2001, We Remember," text reads across the screen, ending the clip.
Earlier in the day, Omar attempted to defend her 9/11 comments by quoting former President George W. Bush and suggesting he did not receive backlash because he wasn’t Muslim as she is.
“'The people — and the people who knocked these buildings down will hear all of us soon!’ President George W. Bush. Was Bush downplaying the terrorist attack? What if he was a Muslim?” she wrote.
Of course, Bush was threatening the perpetrators of the attack in the immediate aftermath. Here are his full remarks via Marketwatch:
President Bush: I want you all to know that America today, America today is on bended knee, in prayer for the people whose lives were lost here, for the workers who work here, for the families who mourn. The nation stands with the good people of New York City and New Jersey and Connecticut as we mourn the loss of thousands of our citizensRescue Worker: I can’t hear you!President Bush: I can hear you! I can hear you! The rest of the world hears you! And the people — and the people who knocked these buildings down will hear all of us soon!
