Pelosi tells CNN reporter she's 'done with' President Trump, she doesn't 'even want to talk about him'

Speaker of the House Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) told CNN senior congressional correspondent Manu Raju on Tuesday that she was "done" with President Donald Trump, calling him the "diverter-of-attention-in-chief."

What did she say?

"I'm done with him," she said. "I don't even want to talk about him."

Despite her reluctance to discuss the president, she claimed that whenever he discussed her it helped her: "My stock goes up every time he attacks me, so what can I say, but let's not spend too much time on that because that's his victory, the diverter-in-chief, the diverter-of-attention-in-chief."

She also said that impeaching Trump wasn't "off the table."

What Pelosi did not want to discuss were the reports that she had told fellow Democratic leaders "I don't want to see him [Trump] impeached, I want to see him in prison." There was no known recording of the statement, but Politico reported it on June 5 citing "multiple Democratic sources familiar with the meeting."

On Friday, Trump called Pelosi "a disgrace to herself and her family for having made such a disgusting statement, especially since I was with foreign leaders overseas."
"Did you actually say that, did you actually say that the president, you'd rather see him in prison?" Raju asked her on Tuesday.

But Pelosi danced around the question, neither confirming or denying that she had said anything of the sort. "When we have conversations in our caucus they stay in our caucus. Do people think there's some impeachable offenses that the president committed? Yes.How serious are they? Are they criminal? Many people think they are."
