MSNBC Contributor Says ‘Racist Liberal Whites’ Support Bernie Sanders

The mainstream media is endlessly claiming that President Trump is racist.
Now the MSM is claiming “racist liberal whites” support Democratic socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders.
MSNBC contributor Jason Johnson made the charge last week.
“I do find it fascinating that racist, liberal whites seem to love them some Bernie Sanders. [They] consistently and always have a problem with any person of color who doesn’t want to follow the orthodoxy of their lord and savior, Bernie Sanders. The man cares nothing for intersectionality. I don’t care how many people from the island of misfit black girls you throw out there to defend you on a regular basis, it doesn’t mean your campaign is serious,” he said in a SiriusXM interview on Friday.
Blowback was immediate.
“I hope we can have political disputes without engaging in open racism and sexism. This misogynoir is disappointing, but not surprising from @DrJasonJohnson. I hope we can all encourage each other to be better,” wrote Briahna Joy Gray, National Press Secretary for Sanders.
“The island of misfit black girls”???!!! Haha OK now we know what this lil grifter is all about. Mask off indeed,” wrote another on Twitter.
“This is a truly disgusting thing to say about strong women like @briebriejoy and @ninaturner, not to mention an entire movement of people that happens to be the most diverse coalition of any candidate,” wrote another.
After the outcry, Johnson apologized, saying his comments were “harmful and unnecessary.”
“Earlier this week in a conversation about the Sanders campaign and the behavior of his staff and supporters I referred to his campaign spokesperson as coming from the Island of Misfit Black Girls. It was a harmful and unnecessary comment and I apologize,” he wrote on Twitter.
