Ohio State football players charged with rape — and they tried to get the victim to say it was consensual on video

Two Ohio State football players were arrested Tuesday and charged with rape and kidnapping for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman last week in Columbus, Ohio, according to BuzzFeed News.

Police say Amir Riep and Jahsen Wint both raped a 19-year-old woman, then attempted to force her to say the encounter was consensual on video after the fact.
According to police records, the alleged victim was having consensual sex with Riep. At a certain point, she withdrew that consent by saying she wanted to stop.
Wint then allegedly walked into the room, and Riep asked the woman if Wint could join in, before allegedly grabbing her by the neck as both men raped her simultaneously as she fought to free herself.
After the alleged assault, police say Riep can be seen laughing on video as the victim cries while they try to get her to say her name and that the encounter was consensual. From the Columbus Dispatch:
After several minutes both parties stopped and Riep told the woman that she needed to say it was consensual on a video recording.

Riep then recorded her asking if he wanted her face on the video, since she was crying. "...And he told her no, just say it was consensual" on video recording while laughing at her."

After telling she needed to take a shower, Riep then drove the woman back to her residence.
Both players have been suspended from the football team. The woman's identity has not been publicized, and it is not yet known whether she is a student at Ohio State.
"We are aware that two of our students have been arrested and criminally charged," an Ohio State spokesperson said. "They have been suspended from all activities involving the football program. We will share more information when available."
Both suspects are in Franklin County Municipal Jail, without bond, and are scheduled to appear in court Thursday.
