German Chancellor Angela Merkel Quarantined After Getting Vaccine From Doctor Who Tested Positive for Coronavirus

German Chancellor Angela Merkel is quarantined at home after getting a vaccine from a doctor who subsequently tested positive for the coronavirus.

Merkel was given a pneumococcal vaccine by the doctor on Friday afternoon.
German government spokesman Steffen Seibert says that Merkel was informed about her exposure following a press conference she gave on Sunday.
CNBC reports that “Merkel decided to immediately quarantine herself in her home, Seibert said. She will be tested regularly over the coming days and will continue to conduct her duties as chancellor from home.”
Merkel said on Wednesday that she believes 60-70 percent of the German population could become infected with coronavirus.
Merkel’s health has been the subject of a lot of internet speculation since videos of her physically shaking at events began going viral last year.
The first incident took place when she was meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy in June. Her office claimed that it was due to the heat.
Approximately one week later Merkel was filmed shaking once again, this time in an air conditioned office.

Following another shaking episode, Merkel broke from standard procedure and sat down in a chair during a welcoming ceremony for Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen.
A German poll published at the time found that 59 percent of the nation view the shaking, and Merkel’s health, as a “private” matter, while 34 percent believe that it is a matter of public interest.
Hans-Georg Maassen, the former President of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution, Germany’s domestic security agency, urged the public to understand that a leader’s health is not a private matter.
“The state of a political leader’s health is not a private matter,” Dr Maassen tweeted. “The people in Germany have a right to know whether their leader is still physically in a position to fulfill her office with all her strength.”
