Hillary Clinton is accused of being 'tasteless' for making 'American First' dig at President Trump after the US became the country with the most coronavirus cases

Conservatives slammed Hillary Clinton for being 'smug about thousands of sick and dead people' after the former Secretary of State took to Twitter to make a dig about President Trump and news that the United States is leading in cases of the coronavirus.
Hillary Clinton took to her Twitter on Friday afternoon to share a story from the New York Times that reported that the United States was now leading the world in the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases.
'He did promise "America First,"' Clinton said in the tweet, which has more than 24,000 retweets and 113,600 likes.
America First has been a Trump slogan which is often chanted at his rallies. It was part of his election promise to put American jobs and military lives first.
And while there were those who were fans of the tweet, several conservative and notable pundits took to it and lambasted Clinton for making the 'tasteless' remarks.
'Not the first time you've laughed as Americans died,' said Jack Posobiec.
'Imagine being smug about thousands of sick and dead people,' another user stated.
The sentiment was shared by Kyle Kashuv, who added: 'Wow. Gleefully boasting thousands dead, families broken, millions of unemployed claims, and widespread suffering just to own Drumpf. My god. This is despicable.'
'You are an actual witch. This is horrific news, but to you it’s just an opportunity to dunk on Trump,' said Blaire White.
'RETIRE. The world and even your party has moved on from the Clintons. Go away.'

Mindy Robinson chimed: 'Of course you’re happy, you probably moonlight reaping souls on the weekends just for fun.'
Several people ridiculed Clinton for not being able to win the presidency in 2016, even though she did win the popular vote.
'This is why you aren't president and he is,' said Caleb Hull.
Benny Johnson stated: 'I am glad you are not President.'
And while the majority of people criticized Clinton for the tweet, there were those who jumped to her defense in the comment thread.
'You are the queen of everything,' said Tara Dublin.
Molly Jong-Fast added: 'Of course Jared’s got it under control, just kidding. Ugh.'

There are currently more than 104,007 cases of the coronavirus in the United States. Some 1,693 people have died.
The United States now has the most coronavirus cases in the world after overtaking both China and Italy as the global pandemic continues to spread.
Disease experts have warned the American death toll could eventually top 80,000 even if people adhere to social distancing. The World Health Organization had predicted this week that the US was likely to overtake Europe as the new epicenter of the disease.
