On March 17, Reynolds announced that he and his wife Blake Lively are donating 1 million to Feeding American and Food Banks Canada. These two organizations help older adults and families with low income that have been brutally impacted by current crisis. “Take care of your bodies and hearts,” Reynolds said in his statement. “Leave room for joy. Call someone who’s isolated and might need connection.”

But the A-list couple’s generosity doesn’t end there. It has been reported that Ryan and Blake have also made a solid donation of 400,000 dollars to New York hospitals. Four of the most affected that will receive their donation are NYU Hospital, Mount Sinai, Northern Westchester, and Elmhurst. According to the New York Times, New York City alone accounts for a staggering 51,810 confirmed Covid-19 cases and 1,562 fatalities.

One more donation of 4,000 dollars, Reynolds dedicated to Edmonton’s Food Bank. Virgin Radio Edmonton shared a touching donation message on their Facebook account. “I happen to love Edmonton. This donation is in memory of Connor McGrath. Love, Ryan Reynolds,” the Deadpool star wrote.

Ryan met 13-year-old boy Connor in Edmonton four years ago through the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Tragically, Connor died three months later from cancer. The same December, the actor dedicated his Critic’s Choice Award for Entertainer of the Year to the Sick Kids Foundation of Toronto. “They didn’t lose the battle, they started a fight and it’s up to us to finish it,” Reynolds said in his speech.
