Clothing Retailer Loves Fauci, Andrew Cuomo, Newsom. Puts Their Names On Women’s Underwear.

Canava, an L.A.-based clothing retailer decided to honor famous people who have “impressed” them during the coronavirus crisis, including Governors Andrew Cuomo (D-N.Y.) and Gavin Newsom (D-CA), along with the government’s leading immunologist, Dr. Anthony Fauci.
Canava emblazoned Cuomo, Newsom and Fauci’s names on limited editions of their women’s underwear. In its product description for Fauci bikini briefs, Canava wrote, “We are living in unlikely times, and we heard you loud and clear that you wanted to show their ‘appreciation’ with more than a thank you,” in its product description for Fauci bikini briefs.
For its NYC special edition, Canava wrote, “For all those ‘thirsty’ for Andrew Cuomo we’ve got the perfect way for you to show your appreciation. Put his name on your undies! Governor Andrew Cuomo has proven to be a bright spot in an otherwise insane time and we want to celebrate him while also giving back so we’re matching dollar for dollar any NYC Limited Edition product purchased with an equal product donation to healthcare workers in the NYC area, we want them to be able to rest, recharge and relax when they get home.”
For its California limited edition, Canava wrote, Consider yourselves heard. There are lots of you loving on Governor Gavin Newsom (we understand you), so we rushed to make sure there’s a way to show your love. With these limited edition undies, you can represent while also giving back because we’re matching dollar for dollar any California Limited Edition product purchased.”
The New York Post noted, “LA Mag notes that Canava introduced its Fauci and Newsom items after debuting the Cuomo briefs to much success in April. The brand had also confirmed this on Instagram, saying the new items were released in response to an ‘outcry for MORE, MORE, MORE.’”
TMZ reported on Tuesday, “Canava debuted the Fauci and Newsom underwear Friday, and we’re told consumers rushed to buy a quarter of the inventory. Worth noting — Fauci is in slightly higher demand than Gavin. Yeah, doctors still have the upper hand. But, we’re told Gov. Cuomo still reigns supreme in this department … Canava says his undies are still the most popular, even though the launch for Fauci and Newsom followed a similar trend as Andrew’s … Canava tells us they’re even fielding requests for underwear bearing L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti’s name.”
Underwear seems to bring out some strange ideas in the current environment; a woman in Scotland might have found a way to publicize names with underwear, too.  As iHeart Radio explains, “She puts her head through a leg opening, and then pulls the other leg opening over the top of her head so only her eyes are showing. The finished product looks like a ninja mask … with a Calvin Klein waistband at her neck.”
