Jussie Smollett Breaks His Silence, Still Claims to be a Victim That is Being Made 'An Example' Of

Actor and former star of the Fox hit television show “Empire,” Jussie Smollett, has broken his silence and is again claiming to be a victim.

Smollett, who has pleaded not guilty to six counts of disorderly conduct, denied faking his alleged hate crime again when he spoke to activist Marc Lamont Hill in an interview on Instagram, The Daily Mail reported.

“I’m going to give it up to God, but if I’m being completely honest, I don’t think that… they’re not going to let this go,” he said.

“There is an example being made and the sad thing is there is an example being made of someone who did not do what they are accused of.

“On one hand, when I step back, I see how [Chicago Police] played the narrative, the way that they served it to the people. That it was intentionally created to make people doubt from the very beginning.

“From the very, very beginning, it was made to seem that I was lying about something or everything. But at the same time, I’m not really living for the people who don’t believe,” he said.

When police responded to the alleged attack in 2019 Smollett refused to give them his phone and went to the hospital where no major injuries were discovered.

He identified two people in grainy police footage as his attackers, but what he did not know is that the police knew the alleged attackers were a pair of brothers who knew Smollett.

The police had tracked their movements and Smollett’s prior to the attack and determined that the attack was a hoax and Smollett was a liar.

But Smollett said to Hill that he was baffled at what the police are doing and why they are prosecuting him.

“Sometimes I wake up in the morning and I’m so angry. Other times I wake up and if I squint really hard, I can see the silver lining,” he said.

“The one thing I always wake up [and think] no matter how I feel is that this is an opportunity to have a real conservation in our own communities about truth.

“The thing that really gets me is the fact that there are black and brown women and men behind bars for things they did not do.

“I am certainly well informed about the plight of us. What happened in these last two years, it has humbled me in a way that nobody could possibly understand,” he said.

Smollett said that he had filed a motion to have the case dismissed and that motion is set to be heard today.

But he said he does not have confidence that the case is going to be resolved any time soon as he is being made an example of in his mind.

Smollett is going to have a tough time, not only in court but in his life finding many people who believe his story.
