Trump To Utilize Private Sector To Make COVID Vaccine Free, Completely Destroys Democrat Narrative

Democrats have spent the past several weeks taking aim at President Donald Trump over how he might roll out a vaccine for COVID-19 once one is finally FDA approved and released to the public. Many of them falsely suggested that the president would somehow profit from a vaccine or otherwise deny it to underserved communities.

Well, they were wrong. VERY wrong.

According to The Hill, the U.S. government struck a deal with a number of America’s largest pharmacy operations to not only distribute a COVID-19 vaccine, but to offer it absolutely free of charge to the public, making a vaccine available to a vast majority of America, where most live within a few blocks of a Walgreens.

The welcomed announcement came from U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar, who indicated that the program will be in 60 percent of pharmacies in every U.S. state, with U.S. territories included.

“Ensuring access and affordability of the COVID-19 vaccine for all Americans is a top priority for the Trump Administration,” Azar said.

“We are leveraging the existing private sector infrastructure to get safe and effective vaccines supported by Operation Warp Speed into communities and into arms as quickly as possible with no out-of-pocket costs. The vast majority of Americans live within five miles of a pharmacy, and our new agreement with pharmacy partners across America is a critical step toward making sure all Americans have access to safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines when they are available.”

Thank God for the private sector, and even more thanks that Trump is a believer in utilizing the private sector. Government does a few things really well, but if it weren’t for the private sector helping out in times of national crisis, we’d all be in a really bad way, really soon.

The Hill also reported that initial doses of an approved vaccine could be limited and in high demand, which would mean that people such as healthcare workers and front-line responders would be in line to receive it first.

News of the government’s distribution plan comes on the heels of extremely promising news out of drug-maker Pfizer, who recently reported initial clinical test results that showed their vaccine is 90 percent effective. The advanced progress on a vaccine far exceeded what many “experts” predicted earlier this year, with pessimistic outlooks that a vaccine could take 2-4 years.

There’s real hope and evidence that America could have access to a COVID-19 vaccine by the end of 2020, another feat that Trump promised early on and was subsequently ridiculed for.

More drug companies are expected to announce similar breakthroughs, especially those working under Trump’s “Warp Speed” program.

Democrats can continue to whine and complain about Trump’s response to the pandemic, but any reasonable person would have to agree that at this point, he’s knocking it out of the park.
