‘False, inaccurate or untrue... take your pick': CBS refute claims that Sharon Osbourne 'is set to receive up to $10 MILLION payout' after she was forced to quit The Talk amid accusations of racism

American TV network CBS has refuted claims that Sharon Osbourne will receive a multi-million dollar settlement following her departure from flagship show The Talk.

It was originally claimed that Sharon, 68, was in line for the generous payoff - believed to be anywhere between '$5 and $10million' - following news that she was preparing to sue over the acrimonious nature of her exit.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk, a CBS spokesperson has since denied any such agreement, describing the reports as: ‘False, inaccurate or untrue. Take your pick.’

On Monday sources claimed the the TV personality is set for a big settlement from the TV network.

'Sharon is walking away with a $5 to $10 million minimum payout and was able to spin that it was her decision [to leave the show],' a source told Page Six on Monday.

Sharon's reported exit agreement also leaves her free to talk about her controversial departure according to another insider who said: 'Sharon will talk when she is ready.

'She still wants to give her side of the story. She has been on that show for 11 years and knows all the secrets.'

The publication claims that Sharon was able to negotiate the cushy farewell terms after threatening legal action.

The Mail on Sunday previously reported that she was planning to take the broadcaster 'all the way' for damages over her departure from The Talk, which was announced on Friday.

She left following a backlash against her decision to defend Mr Morgan's criticism of the Duchess of Sussex's comments during her bombshell CBS interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Allegations later emerged that Sharon had made racist remarks about her co-hosts behind the scenes – a claim she has strenuously denied.

In a statement confirming her departure, CBS said: 'As part of our review, we concluded that Sharon's behavior toward her co-hosts during the March 10 episode did not align with our values for a respectful workplace.'

'As well as her claim for damages, it is understood former X Factor judge Osbourne wants to be paid out for the remaining two years on her contract – thought to be worth £2 million [roughly $2,753,430.]'

A friend told The Mail on Sunday: 'She feels a few suits at CBS have really done for her here. Sharon won't let this go.'
