Kanye West reportedly designs shirts urging black voters to leave Democratic party: ‘Blexit’ (3 Pics)

Entertainer and political activist Kanye West has reportedly designed a logo for shirts and merchandise with the tagline “Blexit.”

“Blexit” is a call advocating for a “black exit” from the Democratic party, according to the New York Post, who first reported the news.

The Post’s Page Six reported that T-shirts bearing the logo emerged on Saturday at Turning Point USA’s Young Black Leadership Summit in Washington, D.C.

Candace Owens, the organizations communications director, told the outlet that “Blexit is a renaissance and I am blessed to say that this logo, these colors, were created by my dear friend and fellow superhero Kanye West.”

Owens added that West — who visited with President Donald Trump in the Oval Office earlier this month — has “taken one of the boldest steps in America to open a conversation we needed to have.”

West was not in attendance at the convention, but Owens said that he was there “in spirit,” and said that there will be a Blexit tour in 2019, targeting areas such as Chicago and Philadelphia.

“The Blexit movement will spend 2019 holding rallies in every major city in America that the Democrats have destroyed,” Owens said.

The merchandise is part of a push to launch Blexit.com, a website including testimonials from black Americans who have cut ties with the Democratic Party.

According to the website, the inspiration behind Blexit is “fueled by individuals who are questioning political dogma and choosing freedom over tyranny.”

Blexit merchandise is available for purchase on the site, with short-sleeved tees ringing up at $25, and long-sleeved tees at $28.

Baseball cap-style hats are also available for $25.

West has yet to issue his own statement on the designs, but on Sunday, tweeted a Bible verse.

West wrote, “‘Be anxious about nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.’ – Philippians 4:6-7.”
