'I'M NOT OWNED!': Ocasio-Cortez Gets Mocked After Her Green New Deal Fails In Senate Vote

Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) was brutally mocked online on Tuesday after her "Green New Deal" failed to garner a single vote of support in the U.S. Senate, which led to the 29-year-old former bartender accusing people of not taking their jobs seriously.

Ocasio-Cortez's proposal had 57 votes against it — with several Democrats even voting against it — while the remaining 43 Democrat Senators voted "present" because they did not want to go on record for having supported the extremist proposal, which is estimated to cost $93 trillion.
Following the disastrous vote for Ocasio-Cortez, the young socialist took to Twitter to try to save face, declaring that she told her Democratic colleagues to not vote for the proposal.
"Because I encouraged them to vote present, along w/ others," Ocasio-Cortez responded to Republican Senator John Barrasso, who asked why no Democrats voted for the proposal. "McConnell tried to rush the #GreenNewDeal straight to the floor without a hearing. The real question we should be asking: Why does the Senate GOP refuse to hold any major hearings on climate change?"
Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) mocked Ocasio-Cortez's plan, which Democratic presidential candidates are now saying sets the U.S. up for "failure," during a speech on the Senate floor which drew condemnation from Ocasio-Cortez.
"Like many other women + working people, I occasionally suffer from impostor syndrome: those small moments, especially on hard days, where you wonder if the haters are right," Ocasio-Cortez tweeted. "But then they do things like this to clear it right up. If this guy can be Senator, you can do anything."
Ocasio-Cortez then accused Lee of not taking his job seriously, tweeting: "W/ the #GreenNewDeal, legislators, experts, & advocates have spent countless hours poring over details of industrial policy+impact of global temp/sea lvl projections. That’s what you do when you take your job seriously + respect the chamber. This is what happens when you don’t."
The official account of Mitch McConnell for Senate mocked Ocasio-Cortez, tweeting: "im not owned! im not owned!!"

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s Green New Deal is deader than we’ll all be in 12 years when the earth melts. And guess whose fault it is:
The GOP’s climate delaying is costing us lives + destroying communities.

Iowa, Nebraska & many in the Midwest are catastrophically flooded right now, in one of the 1st major climate change disasters of 2019.

A urges us to pursue a plan on the scale of the problem.

The GOP never said they’d go along with the Green New Deal. But plenty of Democrats did. Guess how many of those Dems voted in favor of it today:
FINAL VOTE on Green New Deal fails 0 - 57 with 43 Dems voting 'present.'

Jones, Sinema, Manchin, and King voted with Republicans.

That’s zero. As in none. Nada. Zilch. Zip.
Oh, but didn’t you know? That was all part of her plan:
Because I encouraged them to vote present, along w/ others.

McConnell tried to rush the straight to the floor without a hearing.

The real question we should be asking: Why does the Senate GOP refuse to hold any major hearings on climate change?

Beg your pardon, AOC?
This chick is something else.
We were told this was an emergency.
Why do you need hearings on something that you say is an existential crisis? Shouldn't you want to pass it as soon as possible?

Some do. We don’t. But we’ll give her this much: While she’s woefully short on substance, she more than makes up for it in entertainment value.
Good idea. In fact, maybe she should sit everything out from now on. Otherwise she can look forward to more like this from Team Cocaine Mitch:

Perfect.
