Tricky GCSE exam questions will put your knowledge of English, maths and science to the test – so are YOU as smart as a 16-year-old?

A tricky quiz based on the questions that thousands of British teenagers will be facing over the coming weeks when they take their GSCEs is baffling the web.

The test, by an online private tutoring website takes, takes questions from today's curriculum to test adult's knowledge on the core subjects: English, maths and science.

Giving users a taste of the stresses 16-year-olds across the country will be facing, it even provides users with the grade they would receive if they were taking the test.

Alex Dyer, founder of Tutor House said: 'GCSEs are a stressful time for teenagers as they can determine the next stage of their lives.

'Unsurprisingly, this time of year is the busiest for us, parents and students are doing everything they can to make sure the GCSE exams go as smoothly as possible.

'However, it's hard for parents and other family members to truly empathise with their teenage children, because the last time they sat a school exam was probably 20 years ago.

'There's a lot of debate around whether GCSEs are too easy or too hard, so we hope by creating this quiz we can offer some insight into what students are actually having to do to progress in their education, and maybe families or friends will be more understanding and empathetic as a result'.
