Planned Parenthood President Levels Repulsive Smear of Crisis Pregnancy Centers

This is one fight Planned Parenthood shouldn’t have picked.
In a Twitter post on Sunday, the leader of the nation’s largest abortion provider decided to publicly accuse centers that are dedicated to preserving the most vulnerable lives in society of being dishonest in the way they go about their calling.
A woman who deals out death for a living — to the tune of more than a half-million lives a year — maybe should think a little more carefully about whom she attacks.
Dr. Leana Wen, president of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America and a woman with a tenuous grasp of the truth, over the weekend tweeted out an article that essentially accused the nation’s crisis pregnancy centers of running con games on pregnant women.
“Crisis Pregnancy Centers falsely depict themselves as health centers when their only purpose is to misinform, shame and deter anyone seeking safe, legal abortion care,” Wen wrote.

The article she linked to, from Self magazine, identified “5 Telltale Signs of a Crisis Pregnancy Center,” as though it was warning readers against a scam run by unscrupulous criminals bent on victimizing the vulnerable.
Twitter users nailed the hypocrisy:

Care centers offer actual resources — clothing, formula, diapers, car seats— that doesn’t because has NO interest in live births.
Also, ultrasounds that, unlike , they let the moms *see. not @LiveAction

So on one side we have this tweet by the largest abortion provider in the USA. They make money off of getting as many women to have abortions as possible. They have clinics that pretend to be about “women’s health” but are really just abortion centers.

The ugly irony, though, is that the article’s warnings could have been directed more accurately at Planned Parenthood itself.
Among them:
They run ads asking if you’re pregnant, scared, and need help. OK. Since women who are pregnant, scared and need help is pretty much the reason crisis pregnancy centers exist, let’s give Self’s ace reporter credit for stating the obvious – and still somehow making it sound ominous.
They advertise or set up shop where people are most vulnerable. Again, it’s only sensible for a business – or a ministry – to physically locate itself near the population that most needs its services, but in this context, the hypocrisy is particularly appalling.
Planned Parenthood routinely puts its clinics in locations where it hopes to provide its abortion services on the most efficient scale, meaning it sets up in areas dominated by poor and minority women – with deadly results.
As Jason Riley wrote in The Wall Street Journal in July 2018:
“Nationally, black women terminate pregnancies at far higher rates than other women as well. In 2014, 36% of all abortions were performed on black women, who are just 13% of the female population. The little discussed flip side of “reproductive freedom” is that abortion deaths far exceed those via cancer, violent crime, heart disease, AIDS and accidents.”
When 13 percent of the female population by race accounts for 36 percent of abortions, there’s a reason for it. Planned Parenthood goes where its macabre business is best — and makes the most of it. Crisis pregnancy centers do the same – with the notable difference that they are trying to save lives, not end them.
They make abortion sound really dangerous. If that’s evidence of lying, it’s about as off-base as could be. There’s one participant in an abortion for whom the procedure is not only “really dangerous,” it’s fatal – virtually one hundred percent of the time.
They won’t clearly say if they do or don’t perform abortions. Here again is another Planned Parenthood tactic being used as a weapon. Of course, Planned Parenthood doesn’t deny it performs abortions, but it routinely pretends it has some other significant reason for being.
If nothing else, the grim, undercover video operation published in 2015 by the Center for Medical Progress showed that Planned Parenthood won’t clearly say what it did or didn’t do with the remains of aborted children.
It uses words such as choice and hope but still won’t say if it performs abortions.
It might come as a shock to the abortion industry and its lobbying arm in the mainstream media and Democratic Party, but the word “choice” is not a monopoly of those who favor destroying infants in the womb.
It takes a special kind of brazenness to use a Twitter posting to attack a group that helps pregnant women give birth to their children.
And Twitter users noted that, too.

Spreading lies about resource centers that undercut your bottom line by reducing the need for abortion is not a great look

Let me phrase this better for you:

”Planned Parenthood" falsely depicts itself as health centres when their only purpose is to misinform, shame, and deter anyone seeking healthcare, without having to kill their unborn child.

A lockstep alliance between Planned Parenthood, the Democratic Party and the nation’s media – along with a frightfully compliant judiciary – has kept the abortion regime running in the United States since a liberal Supreme Court concocted the “right to an abortion” in 1973.
Wen might have thought a post like Sunday’s would help her cause, but it’s going to do just the opposite.
Repulsive smears painting crisis pregnancy centers as some sort of lairs of deceit, when running an organization that makes money by literally destroying lives is not a good tactical move.
It’s really one fight Wen should not have picked.
