AOC takes major shot at Democratic Party for 'bigger national scandal' involving impeachment

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) blasted her fellow Democrats Saturday and claimed their unwillingness to impeach President Donald Trump is a "bigger national scandal" than Trump's alleged improprieties.
"At this point, the bigger national scandal isn't the president's lawbreaking behavior — it is the Democratic Party's refusal to impeach him for it," Ocasio-Cortez said.
"It is one thing for a sitting president to break the law. It's another to let him," she added in a follow up. "The integrity of our democracy isn't threatened when a president breaks the law. It's threatened when we do nothing about it. The GOP's silence & refusal to act shouldn't be a surprise. Ours is."
The freshman lawmaker's comments reignite her feud with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and moderate Democratic leadership, which has backed away, and even condemned, efforts to impeach the president.
Earlier this month, amid reports that House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) planned to move forward with an impeachment inquiry, Pelosi called impeachment a "divisive measure." Pelosi has instead urged her party to follow the facts.
Ocasio-Cortez and Pelosi reportedly buried the hatchet in July after a tumultuous start to the summer, where Pelosi criticized Ocasio-Cortez and her fellow freshman progressive lawmakers and Ocasio-Cortez claimed Pelosi's criticisms were racially motivated.
Calls for Trump's impeachment continued last week following reports of a whistleblower complaint against the president involving a conversation Trump had with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that involved Hunter Biden.
However, as TheBlaze reported, CNN revealed the whistleblower report was based on nothing but hearsay. Indeed, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko defended Trump Saturday, saying "there was no pressure" during the conversation.
