Truck Circles Dem Debate With Searing Message: ‘Abortion Separates Children From Their Families’
"A state pro-life organization has paid for a truck to circle the debate venue with a pro-life message," reports LifeNews. "The message is important, considering every single Democrat seeking to challenge President Donald Trump supports abortions on demand up to birth."
Speaking to LifeNews, Texas Right to Life said that the pro-life mobile billboard was erected to force Democrats to confront the reality of their policy prescriptions.
"The message 'Abortion separates children from their families' will force candidates and voters to consider the radical position held by every candidate on stage that abortion should be legal and even taxpayer-funded until birth," said the organization. "Moderators and most candidates conspicuously excluded the issue of abortion in the second Democratic debate held in June. This lack of discussion hides the fact that 94% of Americans oppose the Democratic Party’s platform of abortion up until the birth of the child, and 92% disagree with Democrats that abortion should be legal during the third trimester."
"Abortion is the gravest human rights abuse of our time — for mothers who are exploited and for pre-born children who are slaughtered by the big-money abortion industry," the statement continued. "If the candidates in the Democratic Party are going to support this slaughter, the public deserves to know, and Texas Right to Life will show them."
The Democratic Party hit its most extreme nadir on abortion during the first presidential debate, when former HUD secretary Julian Castro publicly pushed abortion rights for "trans females."
"All of you on stage support a woman's right to an abortion. You all support some version of a government health care option. Would your plan cover abortion, Mr. Secretary?" asked Lester Holt at the time.
"Yes, it would. I don't believe only in reproductive freedom, I believe in reproductive justice," said Castro. "And, you know, what that means is that just because a woman — or let's also not forget someone in the trans community, a trans female — is poor, doesn't mean they shouldn't have the right to exercise that right to choose. And so I absolutely would cover the right to have an abortion."
"In our country today, a person’s right to choose is under assault in places like Missouri and Alabama and Georgia," he continued. "I would appoint judges to the federal bench that understand the precedent of Roe v. Wade and will respect it. And in addition to that, make sure that we fight hard as we transition our health care system to one where everybody can get and exercise that right."
Some glimmer of light in the Democratic Party on abortion did show itself this week when Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) said she at least supports abortion restrictions in the third trimester of gestation.
"I think that there should be some restrictions," Gabbard told commentator Dave Rubin. "I think the third trimester. Unless a woman's life or severe health consequences is at risk, then there shouldn't be an abortion in the third trimester."
