Chelsea Clinton calls Donald Trump ‘the greatest scam in American political history’ as she doubles down on her indictment of the president during an explosive appearance on The View with mom Hillary

Chelsea Clinton doubled down on her scathing condemnation of Donald Trump on Wednesday during an explosive appearance on The View, in which she blasted the president as being ‘the greatest scam in American political history’.

Appearing on the show alongside her mother and former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, Chelsea went on to say that she believed Trump’s perceived con-artistry is not just limited to his time in the White House.

‘I think his whole life has been a scam,’ Chelsea bluntly declared to the panel. ‘And I think unfortunately people are suffering every day because his scam has thus far kind of succeeded at the highest level.'

The former first daughter’s scathing rebuke follows similar remarks she made on Twitter earlier this week in response the president’s tweet denouncing the House Democrats' decision to move forward with an impeachment inquiry.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced her support for the investigation last week, after the surfacing of a whistleblower complaint claiming Trump had solicited a political favor from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, aimed at aiding his re-election bid next year. 

‘THE GREATEST SCAM IN THE HISTORY OF AMERICAN POLITICS!’ Trump seethed in a tweet in response, to which Chelsea retorted, ‘Yes, you are.’

Her criticisms of Trump’s political tenure didn’t end there either. Chelsea also argued on the show that Trump has repeatedly engaged in a ‘cruelty’ towards migrants and that Americans are ‘suffering’ under his administration. 

The mother of three children also insisted that Trump’s America is ‘not the America I want my children to grow up in.’

‘You know I have a daughter Charlotte who just turned five last week, a son Aiden, he is three and baby Jasper just two months old,’ she said. ‘And I think about the country they’re living in right now it’s not the country I want them to grow up in.

‘We learned last night that President Trump wanted to dig a ditch at the border and put alligators and snakes and shoot migrants in the leg,' Chelsea explained.

'The depth of cruelty and inhumanity towards migrants, towards people of color, towards LGBTQ community…is not the America I want my kids to grow up in.'

The mother-daughter duo appeared on the hit ABC Show to promote their upcoming book, Gutsy Women.

Hillary Clinton, who was famously defeated by Trump in the 2016 election, also sounded off a variety of her own grievances with the president, including his ‘mental state’.

‘I do think that he knows he's an illegitimate president and because of that he's very insecure about it,’ she declared. ‘He's obsessed with the fact that he was helped a lot in unprecedented ways [in the 2016 election]. ... He accuses other people of doing what he does, and I didn't understand that projection originally.

‘It was so odd. ... That's a central part of his personality,’ Hillary continued.

Despite the president’s repeated – and often heated – denials of any wrongdoing in his dealings with Ukraine, Hillary Clinton believes Congress would have acted in a ‘dereliction of duty’ had they not have pursued impeachment against Trump after details of his July 25 call with Volodymyr Zelensky surfaced.

In the call, the US leader asked his counterpart to launch an investigation of Democratic presidential hopeful Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, who had served on the board of a Ukrainian energy company. 

‘I think it became absolutely unavoidable when the summary of the phone call came out, plus the whistleblower compliant,’ Hillary said.
