BREAKING: Chris Matthews Abruptly Quits MSNBC’s “Hardball” After 23 Years on Air (VIDEO)

Chris Matthews announced he will be quitting “Hardball” and parting ways with MSNBC on Monday.
Matthews, 74, joined MSNBC in 1997.
“I’m retiring,” Matthews said. “This is the last ‘Hardball’ on MSNBC.”
After a commercial break following Matthews’ announcement, another anchor filled in for the rest of the show.

Some people are speculating Matthews was pushed out.
Matthews recently came under fire for comparing Bernie Sanders’ victory in Nevada to France falling to the Nazis in 1940.
