'Next round of stimulus will be one lottery ticket per household': Twitter users mock $600 checks and compare them to Fyre Festival sandwiches and 'a high-five when you're drowning'

Twitter users are not impressed by news that Congress will include stimulus checks of just $600 per person in the latest coronavirus relief package.

Cut down by half from the previous $1,200 checks — and only the second economic aid package for individuals in a turbulent year — the checks are being slammed as insufficient by critics and mocked as ridiculous by social media users.

Countless Americans have now taken to Twitter to not only complain about the relief package, but to make fun of it, pointing out how little a person can do with $600 when they are struggling to pay rent and put food on the table.

Many are turning to dark humor to make their point, joking that it's like getting 1/5 of a slice of pizza, a $5 check from grandma on your birthday, or a high five when you're drowning.

Others are offering even more inadequate ideas for future stimulus packages, suggesting that Congress could give away Bed Bath & Beyond coupons, Box Tops for Education, Blockbuster gift cards, '40 dollars Kohl’s cash valid between January 3rd-7th,' or 'one lottery ticket per household.'

Not enough! Twitter users are mocking Congress' $600 stimulus check as wholly inadequate, with some comparing it to getting this tiny sliver of pizza at a party
