Biden will sit down with ABC's George Stephanopoulos on Wednesday morning as he takes victory lap on $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief plan

Joe Biden's second sit-down interview as president will air Wednesday morning as the president kicks off a cross-country tour promoting his massive $1.9 trillion COVID-19 stimulus bill, which he signed last week.

ABC News host George Stephanopoulos revealed the interview will premiere on 'Good Morning America' on Wednesday.

'Tune into GMA Wednesday for my exclusive interview with President Joe Biden as he travels the country to sell his economic relief plan,' Stephanopoulos previewed during ABC's Sunday morning program 'This Week.'

The sit-down with Stephanopoulos is only the second interview with the president since Biden took office as he faces mounting criticism for not yet holding a press conference since being sworn in and largely avoiding directly addressing the press.

Biden's first interview as president aired before the Super Bowl on February 7 with CBS News host Norah O'Donnell where he talked about his goals for his first 100 days in office.

The president is now taking a victory lap after signing Thursday the sweeping legislation aimed at tackling the coronavirus pandemic.

The nearly $2 trillion package includes another round of direct checks for Americans making less than $80,000 – this time in the amount of $1,400. It also boasts an extension of $300 per week boosted unemployment benefits.

Biden revealed last week that the administration is on track to get every American adult vaccinated against coronavirus by the end of May – two months earlier than anticipated.

The Democrat-led Congress passed Biden's promised American Rescue Plan with the House accepting the Senate version of the bill on Wednesday. Biden immediately signed the legislation when it reached his desk Thursday afternoon.

Also on Thursday evening, Biden issued his first televised address as president where he lauded the passage and marked one year since COVID-related lockdowns.

This coming week, Biden will embark on a 'Help is Here' tour across America, where he will promote and ensure his administration gets credit for the rescue package.

Joining Biden on the tour is Vice President Kamala Harris, first lady Jill Biden and second gentleman Doug Emhoff.
