300-pound topless man is filmed walking up to stranger at LA gas station before punching her 12 times, pulling her hair and bodyslamming her to ground

Police are searching for a 300- pound man caught on surveillance footage pulling up to a gas station and randomly attacking a woman pumping gas.

The brutal attack took place on May 30 at a Gardena area gas station, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said in a statement

Surveillance footage shows the suspect pull up directly in front of a woman who was already at the station pumping gas.

The man, who police say weighs around 300-pounds, is captured calmly getting out of his car and walking towards the victim, and without any warning or provocation punches and knocks her to the ground.

Even as the woman fell to the ground the man continued to punch her in the head and face, police say.

The victim's car blocks the footage from capturing all the blows on camera, but the suspect continued to pummel her.

At one point during the attack the suspect grabbed the victims hair and slammed her head against her car and the ground multiple times, police said.

In the midst of the attack three men are captured approaching the suspect, with one man tapping his shoulder.

The suspect then stops and calmly walks back to his car and drives away from the scene.

The victim told police she did not recognize the suspect and said she has no personal relationship to him.

The suspect did not take any of the victims personal items and police say that as of now they believe the attack was totally 'random and unprovoked'

She was taken to a local hospital to be treated for her injuries and is now recovering at home, police said.

A detective on the case told KTLA News that since investigators released footage of the attack, multiple people have come forward to report they’ve been attacked by the same man.

He is being described as a black man aged 30 to 35, between six and six-foot-five- inches tall and weighing anywhere between 300 and 350 pounds.

Police say he was last seen shirtless wearing dark shorts and driving an older-model Ford Expedition with matte black paint and black rims.
