Kamala Harris' office is 'deeply concerned' and 'puzzled' after the Vice President became embroiled in The View's 'false positive' COVID fiasco

Kamala Harris' office is reportedly 'deeply concerned' after two The View co-hosts tested 'positive' for COVID moments before the Vice President was due to be interviewed in person.

Harris was set to sit down with the program's stars for a lengthy interview Friday before Sunny Hostin and Ana Navarro 'tested positive' for COVID at the eleventh hour.

The pair were booted from the show's stage as producers scrambled to make sure Harris hadn't come into contact with any potentially infected employees. She eventually conducted a shortened interview via video link from another room at ABC's New York studios.

One source told CNN that the Vice President's staffers insisted The View hosts have a PCR test 24 hours before her scheduled interview on Friday.

A rep for show went back to the VP's office on Thursday night, telling them that the tests were 'all clear'.

The source says the producers have not offered a thorough explanation for what went wrong, leaving them 'deeply concerned' and 'puzzled'.

Meanwhile, a senior ABC News source says it's time to 'extinguish the dumpster fire at the show.

The senior ABC News insider exclusively told DailyMail.com Wednesday that the fallout from the fiasco is likely to be long-lasting.

'We've always boasted about being the most important political show in America but now the White House thinks we're a joke,' the anonymous source raged.

'Friday's show encapsulates all of the problems at the show that [ABC's parent company] Disney turns a blind eye to. It is complete chaos all the time, where the hosts have all the control.'

The insider says The View's broadcast blunder is 'so embarrassing' for ABC News President Kim Godwin and Disney content head Peter Rice.

'It shows they have absolutely no idea how to fix the utter toxicity and madness that comes from within The View,' they stated.

The source said they believe it's time for Disney's Executive Chairman Bob Iger to intervene.

Iger - who previously served as president of ABC - reportedly intervened during a recent dispute between the network's newsmen George Stephanopoulos and David Muir.

The source said: 'Bob Iger flew to New York to appease George Stephanopoulos when he threw an unjustified temper tantrum over his title, because he can't handle David Muir's well deserved success.

'It's now time for Bob to fire up the Disney jet and come back to New York to extinguish the dumpster fire at The View, especially if he wants to stay in favor with the White House as it's all the talk internally that he still wants to be a US Ambassador for the Biden Administration.'

The source further said: 'What is most appalling is that some of the hosts and the senior production staff think this is great publicity as the show hasn't made any headlines so far this season. This is how tone deaf they are.'

It eventually turned out that Hostin and Navarro were actually not actually COVID positive.

A slew of subsequent tests returned negative results.

DailyMailcom has contacted Harris' press office for comment.

On Friday, they stated: 'The Vice President did not have contact with the hosts before the show. Her schedule today will continue as planned.'

Later on Friday, the VP flew back to Washington DC where she held high-powered talks with the Prime Ministers of Australia, India and Japan.
