People donate $30k to send a Target employee on vacation after prick customer tries to exploit a policy loophole

Last week a man, David Leavitt, who was “Verified by Twitter” to be a real journalist decided to share with the world how one Target employee wronged him by not honoring the price of a marked electric toothbrush. The details of the story will likely get your blood to boil, but what’s so comical about the story is that the man is the one reporting to the world the facts of this story, and not the poor Target employee who didn’t cave to the man’s pressure and chastising.
So I’ll let the journalist himself tell you why he’s the victim here…

After stating the “violation” against himself to the entire world, the world responded by telling him to go piss off. Essentially, this toothbrush usually runs between $90 and $150, was on sale for a single cent, and clearly this was a misprint. But while some people simply knew better, some Twitter users actually pointed out that what he (and the equally unobservant police he claims to have as witnesses) was seeing was a sticker placed on the plastic display to keep track of shelf space in the store’s system — nothing more. And some people even went further to illustrate how the law, in fact, was not on David’s side at all…

But here’s the best part, the public’s response didn’t stop there! The community rallied around the poor employee and deemed that due to the man’s nonsense that she deserved a vacation. So a GoFundMe began, that as of now sits at $30,000 just over the weekend.

The person who started the GoFundMe campaign, in addition to the Target employee herself, confirmed that the account had been transferred to her. However, Tori decided not to keep the money, and instead is contemplating where to donate the money rather than stashing it away for herself.
